Going xmas card supply shopping requires an especially whimsical outfit. I went with green fur and the dress that matches my hair and my new Moschino flats which are mauve and incredibly precious. Wearing expensive shoes changes the way you walk around town. I made sure to step extra carefully to ensure my shoes remained unscuffed.

They say NYC is incredibly judgmental of peoples shoes. Its actually made me begin to judge peoples shoes more often– mostly on the subway where I have time to focus on meaningless things like that. I hope that people are focusing on these shoes on the subway. If I'm gonna be judged it better be while wearing Moschino.

Hat and dress are vintage. Coat is Blanc Noir. Shoes are Moschino.

Even though Halloween was basically cancelled in NYC, having half the island in total darkness was far creepier than any costumed drunk-fest we could have attended. We've been stranded uptown all week waiting for the trains to start running again so Halloween night i convinced my roommate to take a car-full of us to the blackness that is downtown.

It took us hours to travel only a couple miles. The city is in total chaos right now. Once we crossed the border into the dark, however,it was a totally different world. Spooky and quiet. The only light coming from cars here and there. People in weird costumes making there way on foot with flashlights. Subway tunnels transformed into soggy smelling black pits that led to nowhere. We stopped at Union Square Park to take some photos. It was so dark my camera refused to focus! All in all, our eerie outing saved Halloween. We then returned to our privileged uptown house with its electricity and modern conveniences. La-dee-da...

Behold! A pair of terrible outfit snaps from the other night when I was too lazy to pull out my real camera! I was on my way to see The Liza Colby Sound which is somewhere between metal and soul music so I opted for a '60s mini dress with punk detailing. My turban is, in reality, just a piece of black vinyl I've wrapped up.

I feel like a Shangri-La! Want me to do a turban tying tutorial?? You know you do!

Hat is handmade. Earrings, jacket, dress, and fur purse are vintage. Tights are American Apparel. Shoes are Nine West. Lipstick is MAC Yung Rapunxel.

What to wear to sushi on a chilly night. I opted for my new '60s wool mustard cut out dress and matching black lipstick from Portland Black Lipstick Company.

Feeling a little spooky and disturbed. I placed black velvet beneath the dress cut-outs to keep it PG for a monday dinner and I figured my mouth could be like, the fourth cut-out. Concept dressing. Speaking of which, I found the dress along with a gem of a pair of pants at The Manhattan Vintage Show which always fills my closet while simultaneously draining my bank account. Funny how that works.

I wrote the longest review on black lipstick recently which you can find HERE. If you love black lips then, please, come over. I have every black lipstick in existence on my desk currently. I guess I'd better hop to, and start wearing it every day!

Hey! By the way, did you notice my blog looks a little different? I'm in the process of revamping it so I apologize for a few weird things you may find here and there (I'm one of them. Hi!). This ol' blog has been far past due for a makeover and it's starting right now. Say blog? How do you feel about black lipstick??

Hat is American Apparel. Dress is vintage. Tights are from the faraway land of Japan. Heels are Nine West. Lipstick is Portland Black Lipstick Company.
